What 2 and 3 year old doesn’t like to run, punch and kick? Children between the ages of 2 & 3 years old are embarking on new discoveries every day and learning how to cope with all of the challenges of everyday life.
In our 2 & 3 year old program, each child will experience training that targets the skills that they are currently developing such as large and gross motor skills, behavior development, and character development. These skills have been broken down into age-specific exercises, games, activities, and drills that give your preschooler a jump-start on mastering the skills needed for success in school and play.
By providing a warm, safe environment, children will have less separation anxiety and will improve their social skills, making the transition to preschool and kindergarten much easier.
Students meet 1 day per week or 2 days per week.
Does your 4 to 6 year old have unending energy and never seem to tire? Our karate class gives your child the age and developmentally appropriate exercise he/she needs each week. At our school, children are taught how to develop greater self-control and how to become more self-reliant. Kids are excited to come to class because we cater to their curiosity and enthusiasm. We help your child establish a solid foundation in basic fundamental skills that they will carry with them throughout their lives.
Through exciting drills and fun games, children will learn 8 age appropriate skills that are important to have. They are focus, teamwork, control, balance, memory, discipline, fitness, and coordination. Our program gives your child the exposure required to properly develop each of these skills, making it easy for your child to listen with focus, treat people with respect, exercise self-discipline and display self-confidence. Each class has a mat chat which teaches children how to take the life skills they learn in karate and put them to use in their lives at home and in school.
We cover one of the above skills per class. During each class we run a warm-up; deliver a mat chat about the skill; run two or three skill-building drills; and then we have them demonstrate the skill to earn their skill-stripe. They must earn all 8 skill-stripes in order to graduate to the next belt level. Once they earn their next belt they will continue to run through all 8 skills earning their skill stripes with more challenging curriculum as they advance to each rank.
Students meet 1 day per week or 2 days per week.
We realize that children in this age group have characteristics that differ from children of any other age group. This age is a time when youngsters frequently begin to identify themselves as "athletic" or "unathletic," thereby influencing their future involvement in sports and physical activity. In order to teach athletic success, we structure our classes with exciting drills and fun games to channel a student’s enthusiasm about physical activity. We not only teach your child about health and fitness, we also teach your child about safety, self-defense, and how to handle a bully.
Karate is a sport which instills self-discipline and respect. It is an overall mind and body workout that helps improve performance in other sports as well as school. All students will learn sparring skills, which emphasize control and respect, and weapons skills to develop rhythm and coordination.
Research targets 8 advanced skills that children of this age group are in the process of developing. Those skills are: agility, technique, courage, intensity, flexibility, perseverance, speed, and concentration.

If you are going to spend time working out, why not work on building self-defense skills at the same time? Karate encompasses the 3 major components of exercise: aerobic, strength building, and flexibility. Learning to defend yourself and becoming physically fit can build your self-esteem and strengthen your self-confidence, while raising your energy level, focus and concentration.
Being in good physical condition can lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure and improve your mental health. You can reduce visits to the doctors thereby decreasing your medical expenses. So in a way, taking karate can pay for itself.
Even if you have never done karate, you are uncoordinated, in poor physical condition or youth challenged, you can start your journey to health and fitness here. All of the teen through adult classes welcome beginners as well as intermediate and advanced students. The camaraderie of the other students helps build consistency in your exercise routine.
